About The Position

The Senior Applications Engineer is a customer-facing technical expert within
the low-voltage communications cabling industry. This role provides advanced
guidance on product selection, system design, installation practices, standards
compliance, and field troubleshooting for a broad range of communications cable
products. Customer focus and satisfaction are priorities.

Requirements

• Demonstrated technical competence with the ability to understand and convey cable specifications, transmission characteristics, test results, and product applications for communications cable
• Ability to positively interact effectively with customers across a range of circumstances.
• Ability to facilitate resolution of product quality and field performance issues with plant and R&D personnel.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Ability to develop and present training and technical information.
• Ability to travel up to as needed for visits to customer sites, manufacturing plants and sales support activities (25-50%).
• Experienced in the use of MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with testing and troubleshooting equipment related to product lines of expertise.
• BS in Engineering or equivalent related work experience in the wire and cable industry
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ relative experience in a communications cable and systems environment (applications, field services, installation/testing).

Nice To Haves

• BICSI or other ICT certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct customer technical support.
• Create and deliver product application guidelines and procedures.
• Assist engineering and product management teams with product design from product conception through release of product.
• Assist sales and marketing personnel with technical aspects of customer sales
• Support sales and marketing efforts at industry trade shows.
• Maintain current industry knowledge of product applications, standards, and best practices.
• Create samples and mock-ups when

• Create and deliver product application training programs.
