The Senior Application Solution Architect provides architectural leadership for complex application initiatives at Johnson Brothers. This role is responsible for guiding solution design from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, architectural standards, and long‑term IT strategy. The architect partners closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and IT delivery groups to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and sustainable across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience in application architecture and solution design within complex, enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of modern delivery practices, including Agile and DevOps, and how architecture supports iterative delivery.
  • Experience designing application solutions leveraging cloud and hybrid platforms, with a focus on scalability, integration, and security.
  • Proven experience with application integration patterns, APIs, and service‑based architectures.
  • Solid understanding of data architecture concepts and common enterprise data technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to balance business needs and technical constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect).
  • Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise systems or ERP‑centric application ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture for complex application initiatives, from current‑state assessment through future‑state design and implementation guidance, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and operational supportability.
  • Partner with business leaders, product owners, and project teams to understand business capabilities and translate requirements into clear architectural designs and solution patterns.
  • Evaluate existing applications and integrations to identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, usability, and alignment with enterprise standards while reducing technical debt.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, integration flows, architectural decision records, and reference patterns to support consistent delivery across teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architects and senior engineers, supporting architectural consistency and maturity across the organization.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating relevance and practical application within Johnson Brothers’ business and technology landscape.
  • Conduct solution options analysis, feasibility assessments, and impact analysis to support informed business and IT decision‑making.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews, guiding teams to ensure solutions comply with Johnson Brothers architectural principles, business functional and compliance requirements, security requirements, and technology standards.
