Position Summary We are looking for a Senior Application Scientist I. If you are energized by the idea of developing delicious, real-world food products and enjoy using creativity to solve formulation challenges, this opportunity may be for you. We're looking for a collaborative food scientist who enjoys working hands-on in a lab or pilot plant setting and is ready to make a meaningful impact by developing sweet product applications such as ice cream, baked goods, and confections. This role is based on-site in a collaborative lab environment, where cross-functional teamwork and direct interaction with production teams and commercial partners are part of everyday work. Occasional travel may be required for customer visits and plant support.

Requirements

  • A degree in food science, food technology, chemistry, or a related field
  • Significant experience in sweet product development, preferably across ice cream,
  • Strong understanding of ingredient functionality and flavor application
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Working knowledge of lab and pilot plant equipment, as well as standard food industry software tools
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset and a collaborative approach to team projects

Responsibilities

  • Develop ice cream products that showcase ingredient systems
  • Lead product development projects from concept through scale-up, including formulation, testing, and documentation
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, flavorists, and sensory teams to align product design with customer needs
  • Support production teams by troubleshooting issues, attending calls, and participating in rework planning
  • Assist with customer visits, product demos, and educational sessions
  • Run trials in the pilot plant and test for stability, shelf life, and performance
  • Guide and coach less experienced team members on technical skills and project execution
