The Sr. Application Engineer for Protection, Controls and Automation will lead multiple complex power system projects, proposing new features and improvements to customers. This role involves training team members, designing, configuring, testing, and executing Protection, Control, and Automation projects while ensuring adherence to quality processes. The candidate will also manage technical escalations and collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless project execution. A strong emphasis on safety and innovation is required, along with the ability to influence and mentor others in the organization.

  • Lead multiple complex power system projects
  • Propose new and creative features and improvements to customers
  • Train team members and support them in-person or remotely as needed
  • Design, configuration, testing, and execution of Protection, Control and Automation projects
  • Identify potential risks associated with the project scope, design, testing, schedule, etc., and provide mitigation strategies
  • Ensure the design, configuration, testing and execution of PCA projects adhere to the approved quality process
  • Demonstrate and promote Schneider Electric Safety-First policies
  • Lead project design and architecture discussions with customers and other business units
  • Collaborate with Sales and PM during project handover stage
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of PCA projects
  • Lead development of PCA projects by implementing technical standards
  • Propose new ideas and processes to improve efficiency
  • Manage technical escalation of customer projects
  • Engineering degree / master's degree in electrical / Power system domain
  • Must be a digital citizen
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in executing Protection, Control and Automation projects
  • Advance knowledge in Power system, Protection relays, Protection schemes, and Protection relay based ATO schemes
  • Outgoing and energetic professional who thinks strategically and creatively
  • Excellent people skills and ability to influence, convince, communicate, mentor application engineers
  • Well organized and proactive professional who works well with people
  • Willingness to travel 40% domestically
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric's Medium and Low voltage systems
  • Knowledge in protection relay based ATO testing and different protection scheme testing
  • Expertise in different communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP, and IEC61850
  • Experience in executing complex protection relay based ATO schemes over IEC61850 standard
