About The Position

Kent is looking for a Senior Application Developer to be based on-site in Spring, TX. You will lead the transformation of existing low-code business applications into scalable, secure, high performance pro-code, web-facing solutions. You will be central to our client’s digital modernization strategy as they evolve from legacy and low-code platforms (Power Apps, Airtable, Power Automate, etc.) to robust enterprise-grade applications built using modern frameworks and cloud services. Ideal candidate is a full-stack Engineer understanding both low-code environments and modern software engineering practices and can lead end to end rebuilds of business-critical applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years full‑stack development experience with at least one major front-end and one major back-end framework.
  • Proven experience converting low‑code applications (Power Apps, Airtable, Quickbase, etc.) into fully custom web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Python
  • SQL
  • REST API design and development
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms:
  • Azure (preferred)
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Functions, APIs, and event-driven services.
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and modern deployment patterns:
  • GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous modernization work in a large enterprise, especially in the energy sector.
  • Familiarity with:
  • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Airtable schema analysis and API integration
  • Azure Logic Apps and API connectors
  • Experience with:
  • Microservices architectures
  • OAuth2 / OpenID Connect
  • API gateways (Azure API Management)
  • Experience delivering production-grade software solutions for major oil & gas operators will be strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing low-code applications (Power Apps, Airtable, Power Automate, etc.) and design professional, scalable, web-facing replacements.
  • Architect and develop new applications using modern pro-code tools and frameworks such as:
  • Develop new APIs, microservices and integrations to replace low-code connectors and workflows.
  • Rebuild workflows, forms, data models, and business logic in a pro-code environment.
  • Establish engineering standards, coding patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction for modernization initiatives.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and enforce architectural patterns.
  • Modernize data storage layers and migrate from embedded datasets to cloud platforms.
  • Integrate applications with:
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and API security via Azure AD / Entra ID.
  • Work with product owners, business SMEs, and low-code developers to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Build architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and modernization roadmaps.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies and guide cross-functional teams through modernization cycles.
  • Ensure robust documentation and knowledge transfer.
