About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Application Architect to lead the design and development of enterprise-grade applications in the Wilbert application landscape which includes Software as a Service package software along with custom development. This role will not have employee managerial responsibilities but will focus and serve as a technical mentor and solution architect, driving execution across product and project backlogs while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Azure cloud services, API and ETL integration, and Agile methodologies, along with strong communication and enterprise solution design skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in application architecture and software development.
  • Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, including: Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps Power Platform (Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate)
  • Strong experience with modern data warehouse / business intelligence platforms and data structures, such as: Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Delta Lake (Lakehouse architecture) Epicor GROW business intelligence solutions
  • Strong experience with API development and management, such as: RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Azure API Management OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Advanced knowledge of ETL tools and data integration, such as: Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, SSIS, Databricks Python/PySpark for custom transformations
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, especially SCRUM.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to create enterprise architecture diagrams and solution documentation.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor Kinetic).
  • Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Azure Purview).
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture (e.g., Azure Event Grid, Service Bus).
  • Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams without direct people management.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design and integrate scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise applications using industry best practices.
  • Lead technical execution across Agile product and project backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, application owners, and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical designs and solution architectures.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams, solution documentation, and technical roadmaps.
  • Mentor developers and technical teams, providing guidance on best practices, design patterns, and code quality including security.
  • Drive integration strategies using APIs and ETL pipelines across cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Lead the overall architecture and design while partnering with business users to implement Business Intelligence and Data Analytics platforms and tools.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and data governance policies.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies as a technical leader.
