Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

  • Extensive experience with distribution systems and apparatus equipment, including application and engineering specification, design, and operation standards.
  • Skilled in T&D automation and advancing grid innovation and resiliency through new products and features to support grid reliability and safety.
  • Ability to accurately analyze information, make strategic decisions, and guide others by identifying benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives.
  • Effective in interfacing and collaborating with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Experienced in developing asset roadmaps and implementation strategies.
  • Proven ability to drive product development, forming the basis of new equipment and materials.
  • Capable of managing risk and safety, developing and executing business plans, managing information, and providing exceptional service to customers.
  • Makes informed decisions, is results-oriented, team-oriented, and stays current with relevant technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups
  • Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Collaborate and lead with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies
  • Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations
  • Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases
  • Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
  • Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems
  • Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Ensures the protection of all physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
