Peraton is seeking a Senior API Developer to join the team in support of a development environment to help drive system innovation for related services and designing w e b and mobile based API interfaces with a focus on performance and security. Responsibilities : Develops custom API interfaces to allow for the enablement of solution capabilities across the supported development platform . Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products. Prioritizes and allocates projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers. Participates in the strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the software products. Directs software development projects to include, ensuring that projects are completed on time and according to quality standards, facilitating communication upward and across project team including project status, justifications for variances and technical information. Organizes projects through development of a project plan which includes communication of product goals as defined by top management, definition of project strategy, identification of the roles and responsibilities of key project groups, development of a schedule with key milestones, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of project resources. Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.   • Develops custom API interfaces to allow for the enablement of solution capabilities across the supported development platform

  • Strong customer service and communications skills, both oral and written
  • Strong critical thinking skills that facilitate expedient problem solving
  • Proficient in RESTful API design, versioning, and documentation
  • Skilled in Java, Python, or JavaScript and experienced with frameworks such as Spring, Flask, or Node.js
  • Familiar with API security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API key management)
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests for APIs and working with mocking/testing tools
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and work collaboratively in Agile environments
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years w/HS Diploma or equivalent Experience in the use and deployment of API Interfaces
  • Current active IAT II certification with related coding Computing Environment (CE) certification(s) to comply with DoD 8570 and DoD 8140.03 requirements
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • Must be a US Citizen
