The Frontend Platform Android team's mission is to enable fast, safe, and high-quality frontend application development at scale. We work closely with mobile and infrastructure teams to ensure our platforms support ambitious product goals and engineering velocity. As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll help accelerate the growing team building the Robinhood Legend product! You'll contribute to core platform architecture, collaborate across mobile engineering teams, and improve the speed and quality of feature development. This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA or New York City, NY office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin and Jetpack
  • Strong understanding of Android SDK internals, architecture, and design best practices
  • Experience building shared tools or libraries used across mobile teams
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset
  • Ability to own technical initiatives and work across engineering functions

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to platform-level architecture, systems, and tooling to support all Android product teams
  • Develop robust and scalable infrastructure with Kotlin and Jetpack libraries
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including iOS, web, backend, and infra
  • Drive improvements in developer experience, application performance, and test reliability
  • Participate in technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers
