About The Position

Verkada’s Alarms team builds the intelligent systems that detect, verify, and respond to real-world security threats—whether it's a break-in or suspicious activity caught on video. We combine intrusion sensors, cameras, and AI to create a fast, reliable, and modern security experience. We consider our team a startup within a startup, with a fair amount of ownership and autonomy. You’ll be working alongside a dynamic team of firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to develop this product line.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing on Android.
• 2+ years Embedded Android or AOSP experience.
• In-depth understanding of Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Comfortable writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
• Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field.

Nice To Haves

• Jetpack Compose experience.
• Experience building UIs for Linux with frameworks like Qt.
• Eye for design, product details, and polish.

Responsibilities

• Drive product ideas from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design simple and robust backend APIs.
