About The Position

This opportunity is as a Senior Android Developer within the Audible Android group. The team is building customer facing UI for Audible Android application. We need your help to develop and deliver on this vision. Success means we lay the foundation for continued expansion of our company without disrupting an already tremendously successful and much-loved project.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing Android Applications using Kotlin, Java, the Android SDK, and common Android tools and platforms like Compose, Jetpack Navigation
  • 3+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks
  • Experience engaging, verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner
  • Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
  • Knowledgeable about Android (and app ecosystem) and curious about latest tech

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for the world's largest audiobook creator and provider
  • Identify and resolve software defects through code review, log analysis, metrics examination, debugging, and other troubleshooting methods
  • Write maintainable and scalable code for software components as part of an agile engineering team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to envision, design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software that inspires and impacts users
  • Apply computer science, engineering, and analysis principles to solve moderate-scale problems
  • Continuously enhance testability, operational excellence (OE), and documentation for owned software components
  • Handle data classification, storage, and management in accordance with company policies
  • Participate in the interview process and provide mentorship to fellow engineers
