About The Position

Maven is looking for an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Core Analytics team to help drive the technical vision and the strategic projects to build and maintain the modeled data layer and semantic layer that power data-driven decision-making as our business scales. As a part of Maven’s Data organization, you will sit at the intersection of Data Engineering and Analytics, transforming raw data into clean, reliable, well-documented datasets and metrics that our Client Success, Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams rely on everyday. You will be a key partner in the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable data models and reporting layers that enable key cross-functional teams to self-serve critical business metrics with confidence.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant analytics or data science experience
  • Fluency in SQL and a strong background in data visualization
  • Hands-on experience with Python or R
  • An ability to juggle both long-term, strategic projects and ad hoc, urgent requests as needed
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior analysts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Financial and Sales data
  • Experience with at least on BI tool (Tableau, Looker), and/or dbt

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data models in our cloud data warehouse (e.g., BigQuery) using dbt (or similar tooling), applying strong dimensional and domain modeling practices to support core domains
  • Own the transformation layer from raw and staged data to curated marts, including implementation of dbt models, tests, documentation, and model ownership conventions that enable a consistent “single source of truth” across stakeholders
  • Increase operational efficiency by proactively and rigorously diagnosing pain points in data and reporting workflows and implementing scalable, long-term fixes
  • Promote and exemplify development standards and data quality for analytics engineering work, including Git-based workflows, code review, CI/CD for dbt and BI, clear documentation, and robust testing (dbt tests and other checks) to keep key tables and metrics stable and trustworthy
  • Explore and evaluate new tools and patterns (within the modern data stack, data quality, observability, and BI) that can improve developer productivity, data reliability, and the scalability of Maven’s analytics ecosystem

Benefits

  • Maven for Mavens: access to the full platform and specialists, including care for mental health, reproductive health, family planning and pediatrics.
  • Whole-self care through wellness partnerships
  • Hybrid work, in office meals, and work together days
  • 16 weeks 100% paid parental leave and new parent stipend (for Mavens who've been with us for 1 year+)
  • Annual professional development stipend and access to a personal career coach through Maven for Mavens
  • 401K matching for US-based employees, with immediate vesting
