The Senior Analytics Engineer at Amplify plays a crucial role in transforming and modeling data to empower teams across the organization and its customers. This position involves collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to create reliable data models and metrics that enhance product design and improve educational outcomes. The engineer will work on building analytical models, data pipelines, and insights that support school administrators and marketing teams, while also ensuring data privacy and security.

  • Ingest, transform, model, and aggregate data to provide clean and reliable metrics for products and internal partners.
  • Build analytical models that drive the design cycle for educational applications.
  • Architect data warehouse schemas and SQL transforms to help school administrators understand teaching and learning processes.
  • Analyze performance and troubleshoot bugs using tools like Fivetran, Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, SQL, Python, Looker, and Tableau.
  • Create cohesive data marts from ERP and CRM systems to support marketing and sales teams.
  • Participate in agile rituals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data models and standards.
  • BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software development or data engineering experience.
  • Expertise in computer, data, and analytics engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL and its use in code-based ETL frameworks, preferably dbt.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, analytical data modeling, aggregations, and metrics.
  • Strong communication skills in writing and conversation.
  • Fluency in a development language such as Python.
  • Familiarity with metadata management tools such as Atlan.
  • Experience building dashboards and reports in business intelligence tools like Tableau or Looker.
  • Proven passion for teaching and mentoring fellow engineers and non-engineers.
  • Experience in education or ed-tech.
