GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Senior Analytics Developer will work with business unit customers to design and deliver Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that match and align business requirements with analytics environment and provide leadership to the Analytics Developer role. This role will advise business unit customers and the BI team on appropriate methods for presenting analytics results. The Senior Developer will configure analytic tools, develop the semantic layer, and create reports, dashboards, and visualizations. This role will establish common reporting standards and help align business requests to such standards. The Senior Developer will also provide expert data modeling and technical architecture design for the data warehouse and related analytic data sets. This role will work with and guide other team members on BI initiatives and optimum methods of analytic querying, reporting and delivery. This role will also design, build, and maintain data integration and ETL/ELT processes using current tools.

Requirements

  • 7+ years professional working experience as Analytics or Business Intelligence (BI) Developer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in or knowledge of some or all of the following technology areas: Expertise in analytic tools architecture, functions, and features.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data design, data modeling, and data management.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience including stored procedures.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with DAX.
  • In-depth understanding of SQL Server database management system, online analytic processing and ETL technology and framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft reporting, analytics, and visualization tools (SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI).
  • Experience with Boomi or other data integration tools
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
  • Ability to stay current with BI advancements and best practices in design and development.
  • Proven ability to lead, take initiative and be innovative.
  • Analytic mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to work in an agile technology environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to learn and respond quickly to a fast-changing business environment.
  • Ability to see the big picture and provide insights in easy-to-understand terms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business requirements in Business Intelligence (BI) context and design solutions to transform raw data into meaningful insights for BI customers.
  • Create relationships between data and develop tabular multidimensional data models for end users.
  • Develop and execute advanced database queries.
  • Develop ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Analyze and present data through the development of dashboards and interactive reports that aid decision-making.
  • Assist in the management of end user testing and acceptance and provide post-implementation customer support and maintenance.
  • Establish, maintain, and ensure adherence to application standards for data reporting and extraction.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing best practices in data governance.
  • Help business users select appropriate analytic tools.
  • Troubleshoot analytic tool problems and tune for performance.
  • Create or discover new data procurement and processing applications and methods.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business users to integrate systems and data.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to BI developers and analysts.
  • Provide tactical and strategic BI and analytics recommendations to business users at all levels and to the BI team.
  • Will serve on and may chair various company committees as appointed.
