About The Position

The Tax Technology Senior Analyst will join a global Finance & Tax Transformation team supporting all aspects of the Tax function at AbbVie from a technology perspective, including global direct and indirect tax processes. This is a key role, providing leadership opportunities in driving the integration of technology and automation across operational processes within the Tax function. This highly visible position will include actively partnering with other AbbVie Finance and Operations functions. The Tax Technology Senior Analyst is a key member of the Finance & Tax Transformation team, working with tax stakeholders to set the vision, design the strategy and leading team members in execution of technology efficiencies to deliver transformative results across the Tax function. We are looking for someone to join our team and support the transformation of our tax operations through technology and process optimization. This role focuses on collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain efficient tax technology solutions, ensuring compliance with US and international tax regulations. The ideal candidate has experience with tax technology tools, tax processes, and data management and is eager to grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Computer Sciences.
  • Experience in financial accounting and related processes.
  • 4+ years of progressive responsibility in a publicly traded corporation or public accounting firm.
  • Operational experience with tax and finance technology solutions, including ERP systems.
  • Broad understanding of US GAAP accounting under ASC 740.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
  • Up to date awareness of tax technology trends and solutions in the market.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both tax and non-tax audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, energetic individual, able to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating tax operational processes and identifying opportunities for automation and technology solutions.
  • Reviews existing tax processes, implementing controls and identify areas for efficiency gains and improvements.
  • Develops recommendations for streamlining tax workflows using technology and data analytics.
  • Assists with integration and implementation of technology and data management solutions across the Corporate Tax function, including tax planning, compliance and reporting (e.g., ASC 740, SOX, Transfer Pricing, Sales and Use Tax).
  • Collaborating with Finance and Operations functions to align data flow requirements and to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in meeting global reporting and compliance obligations.
  • Supporting Corporate Tax teams in global tax accounting processes, with a prioritized focus on income taxes under ASC 740, income tax compliance, tax planning and controversy.
  • Effectively communicating with advisors and other key stakeholders.
  • Actively monitoring technology developments to ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions within set time frames.
