The Senior Analyst, Security (PERSEC Specialist) plays a vital role within the Special Programs team in the Security department. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including: processing personnel clearance requests for access to classified information, developing and administering personnel security procedures, and reporting crucial information to customers, such as adverse information, personnel status changes, foreign contacts, and foreign travel. The role also involves updating computer databases with critical security information, ensuring compliance with federal security regulations, and coordinating with government agencies for regulatory compliance rulings and interpretations. Protecting employees' personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act and other relevant Government regulations is a key responsibility.

  • Provide customer service to employees related to security policy questions and actions.
  • Administer security procedures (NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07, JSIG, and ICD 705) related to operating in a classified environment.
  • Support specialized procedures for the transmission of classified and/or proprietary material/information.
  • Conduct and/or participate in internal reviews and/or Government inspections.
  • Investigate security infractions/violations and prepare reports specifying the potential for loss or compromise and the associated risk to the program(s).
  • Maintain personnel records and perform data entry tasks.
  • Inspect data to ensure it is appropriate for the destination system/domain.
  • Execute secure transfer procedures.
  • Assist in strict media control.
  • Document required information in databases.
  • Maintain configuration management of approved processes.
  • Maintain required training for personnel.
  • Work extended hours as needed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven office environment.
  • A University Degree and 2 years related experience or 6 years of related experience.
  • Experience with 32 CFR, Part 117 (NISPOM), DoDM 5205.07, JSIG, or ICD-705.
  • Active and transferable TOP SECRET U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Familiarity with DISS, JADE, eSecurity, or other DoD databases.
  • Master's Degree major in Business Management, Security and/or Risk Management, Government Policy, Information Management, Criminal Justice, or other related field of study.
  • Related training with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, Center for Development of Security Excellence, or equivalent security certification programs.
