About The Position

As the Senior Analyst, Restaurant Training, you are an Instructional Designer, responsible for developing Chipotle's operational training materials used every day by 120,000+ team members in 3,400+ restaurants located across the United States and Canada. This role is responsible for the entire lifecycle of training, including analyzing, planning, writing, editing, developing, distributing, managing, and monitoring. They own the training for a variety of new initiatives and rollouts, including new menu items, new equipment, technology rollouts and more. They also own the training updates for evergreen training materials used to ensure successful training and day-to-day operations, including training plans, checklists, courses, videos, job aids, recipe cards, and more. They serve as the main contact for Chipotle's print provider on all printed training materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred.
  • 3-8 years of experience in Training for Restaurant or Retail Operations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign.
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proficient in Articulate Rise 360.
  • Knowledgeable in Articulate Storyline 360.
  • Working experience of learning management systems, ideally Docebo.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to approach and solve problems in a logical and organized manner with general supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task with general supervision.
  • Ability to build and present business cases to leadership with general supervision.
  • Must be able to work business hours in-person at the Restaurant Support Center in Newport Beach 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday).
  • Must be able to attend meetings and working sessions at the Chipotle Cultivate Center in Irvine as needed (approximately 4-6 times per month).
  • Must be able to travel locally by car as needed (approximately 3-5 times per month) for restaurant visits, meetings.
  • Must be able to travel nationally by air as needed (approximately 3-5 times per year) for conferences, development opportunities, restaurant visits, meetings, vendor visits.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on various internal teams to understand training needs and scope of project in order to build a training strategy to present to Restaurant Training leadership.
  • Partner on the hand-off and review of standard operating procedures with subject matter experts, providing feedback as needed to ensure consistency and one best way across all restaurants.
  • Use finalized standard operating procedures to develop training content, including recipes, procedures and scripts, that adheres to Chipotle's written style guide with a conversational yet professional tone.
  • Develop new and engaging training materials as defined in project training strategy, ranging from eLearning, video, print and digital, to appeal to a broad spectrum of adult learners.
  • Update existing training materials based on company changes to keep training system up-to-date.
  • Prepare files for final delivery through the learning management system, intranet or print, with any additional languages or localization required.
  • Serve as the Restaurant Training team contact for Chipotle's print provider by organizing the planning and communication of monthly shipments to restaurants.
  • Manage the production and distribution of new or updated training materials.
  • Oversee the inventory of existing training materials and reordering as needed while factoring in the cost and the needs of the business.
  • Review and approve estimates and invoices.
  • Serve as the back-up to the main administrator of Chipotle's learning management system, the Spice Hub (powered by Docebo), by uploading and archiving files, creating and updating certifications, enrollments and reports, answering questions from the field, building and updating learning plans and observation checklists.
  • Provide ideas and feedback to the main and secondary administrator on the organization and user experience within the system.
