About The Position
Chipotle is on a mission to change the fast-food experience by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food with wholesome ingredients. As one of the largest purchasers of naturally raised beef and pork in the United States, this position plays a crucial role in managing all activities related to category and supplier management, specifically focusing on the procurement of services, materials, and supplies related to CMG Protein Procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing both tactical and strategic functions related to daily procurement activities. This includes managing and updating pricing models, reconciling variances, and building and maintaining excellent relationships with vendors. The role also involves planning and leading business reviews with suppliers to ensure compliance with CMG policies and fulfillment of deliveries. Additionally, the position requires conducting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and quality for the company. In collaboration with culinary and marketing teams, the candidate will support the introduction of new protein options that meet CMG standards and cost/availability requirements, particularly for Limited Time Offer (LTO) projects. The onboarding process of new suppliers that align with CMG standards will also be a key responsibility, aimed at supporting supply growth and diversification. The role demands ensuring that there is sufficient category processing capacity and raw material supply to support CMG's growth objectives. Furthermore, the candidate will be tasked with identifying and realizing cost-saving opportunities and cost-avoidance exercises without compromising supply assurance or quality. Maintaining and updating Product Master Data and SKU price forecasting in CMG systems, as well as staying informed about global economies and commodity markets relevant to protein, are also essential functions of this position.
