About The Position

Role summary: The Senior Analyst, Pricing, plays a critical role in evaluating and enhancing retail pricing strategies for assigned business units. About the team: The Pricing team plays a vital role in supporting Walmart’s Every Day Low Price strategy by ensuring pricing execution complies with all federal, state, and local regulations. This team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to develop and implement competitive pricing and promotional strategies. Utilizing data analysis and pricing analytics, the team evaluates pricing effectiveness and adapts strategies to meet evolving business needs. Members contribute to maintaining system functionality and provide expert guidance to optimize pricing decisions, supporting omnichannel operations and driving value for customers while upholding company standards and ethical practices.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in pricing strategies and analytics to support competitive retail pricing and promotional initiatives.
  • Strong ability to analyze sales data, margins, and inventory levels to evaluate pricing effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Pricing, and Marketing to develop and execute pricing plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws related to pricing compliance and promotional activities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing information systems such as Merchandise Value Planner and Retail Link for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills to build partnerships and provide guidance on pricing strategies.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and continuous improvement in pricing practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business, Marketing, or related field OR 2 years’ experience in merchandising, retail pricing, sourcing, operations management, finance, marketing, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales data and competitive pricing to evaluate advertising effectiveness and inform pricing strategies for assigned business units.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Pricing, and Marketing to develop and execute promotional pricing strategies and events.
  • Monitor and maintain pricing compliance with applicable laws and company policies, ensuring consistency and accuracy in advertised pricing.
  • Utilize information systems to track performance metrics, troubleshoot system issues, and support pricing validation and item selection processes.
  • Provide expert guidance on pricing trends, competitor strategies, and business needs to optimize retail pricing approaches.
