About The Position

As an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal, you will assist Dell's IP Legal team in providing a full range of IP support functions for IP litigation matters, including helping with managing outside counsel and internal client counseling. The IP Litigation team at Dell has a range of varied responsibilities related to the company's docket of IP litigation matters. These range from working with others on the in-house legal team and with outside counsel, to identifying and developing internal facts, information and key subject matter experts, to helping to create and finalize legal research, briefing and pleadings. Attorneys at Dell Technologies need to keep on top of wide-ranging legal briefs. The kind that only occur in a fast-moving global business whose technology is driving human progress. So it's a good thing they have the support of talented Paralegals. Assisting attorneys in a variety of legal business related to our complex organization, the team enjoys varied responsibilities. These range from liaising between in-house attorneys and outside counsel, through to collecting and summarizing legal research. They also prepare, proof, edit and file drafts of contracts, leases, licenses and insurance policies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of broad IP paralegal experience in either an in-house legal department or law firm, particularly experience with complex IP litigation matters
  • Highly proficient knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, productivity tools, and docketing software (e.g. TEAMs, Tymetrix T360)
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal attorney supervision on a variety of projects simultaneously, with excellent customer service skills and responsiveness, and be flexible in accepting new roles and responsibilities.

  • IP trial experience

Responsibilities

  • Work with our lawyers, in-house clients and outside firms to assist in the preparation and filing of legal research, briefing and pleadings
  • Support IP litigation disputes and active litigations by collaborating with internal teams, outside counsel, and vendors to assist with the interviews and documents collections, subpoena responses, litigation document holds, discovery, maintain case records, perform research, and support and conduct fact investigations
  • Assist with managing and tracking budgets and accruals and administrative setup of new matters, including tracking of outside counsel billing and invoices
  • Run reports from databases as many be requested or needed
