About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for a New Product Introduction Buyer to carry out processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis. The position will be mainly responsible for NPI procurement for Jamestown and along with that some direct Buying for production needs (~20%). The position will also involve the Military programs procurement and associated compliance and regulation for Procurement processes. You will work with buyers in activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and/or services related to Cargo Systems. This is a hybrid position (typically working 2-4 days onsite) and may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • ERP experience required, SAP strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • MS office Suite experience (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • 2 or more years’ experience working in an industrial setup.
  • Procurement experience.
  • A bachelor's degree would be strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with buyers in activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services.
  • Follows the Collins Aerospace best practice standard work for NPI processes.
  • Prepares purchase orders and payment approvals to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly.
  • Assembles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information for analysis.
  • Supports the preparation of request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
  • Compiles records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories, analyzes data and ensures account needs are met.
  • Carries out processes and standards in support of Procurement, including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, and/or program execution.
  • Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identifies, validates, and refines cost reduction initiatives.
  • Acts as liaison for engineering technology, material and component optimization, new product cost analysis, design readiness and manufacturing producibility.
  • Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.
  • Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
  • Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
  • Other duties as assigned.
