About The Position

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Analyst in Materials Engineering. This is an on-site role at our Clyde, OH location. The purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership, lead projects, and oversee the Materials Engineering group within our manufacturing plant to successfully execute World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Logistics & Customer Service (LCS), to optimize end-to-end material flow and deliver best-in-class service at the lowest cost possible. The Materials Engineering Lead is accountable to drive continuous improvement through the planning and execution of lean events and activities. They must also “champion” lean through daily coaching in lean tools and WCM methodologies. These activities must be prioritized and organized to deliver both short-term and long-term goals and activities in accordance with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 4+ years of experience working in a Supply Chain or manufacturing environment, including engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Materials Engineering
  • Project Management, demonstrated ability to lead successful projects
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards
  • Proficient in Google Suite as an asset, MS Office, Access, Project, ERP systems (SAP)
  • Strong understanding of lean concepts along with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement via lean tools.
  • Ability to grow individual and organizational competency through proactive coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in a “teaming” environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all material engineering processes throughout the plant.
  • Operations/People management - coaching and developing material engineering technicians, supervisors and hourly associates through a daily presence on the floor, ensuring successful safety, quality, delivery, cost in all processes
  • Putting lean into practice - using lean WCM tools to drive continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow
  • Takes ownership of key results and associated activities to achieve them.
