Position Summary The Senior Analyst, Medicare FP&A role will support financial forecasting and analysis within the Group Medicare Advantage segment. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, analytical rigor, and attention to detail. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in building, maintaining, and analyzing forecast models and assumptions for Group Medicare Advantage products, with a primary focus on revenue and medical cost drivers to support Gross Profit and P&L visibility. The Senior Analyst will work closely with actuarial, accounting, and finance partners to support projection cycles, explain performance drivers, and deliver clear, accurate analysis to leadership. This role is execution‑focused, with opportunities to drive process improvements and deepen understanding of Medicare Advantage financial dynamics.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of financial modeling, forecasting, or analytical experience
  • Strong Excel skills with experience building and maintaining complex models
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial results

Nice To Haves

  • FP&A experience, preferably within healthcare or insurance
  • Exposure to Medicare Advantage, Medicare, or health plan financials
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting leadership reviews
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and controls
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight timelines
  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Hyperion)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain forecast and budget models supporting Group Medicare Advantage Gross Profit
  • Analyze revenue, membership, and medical cost drivers to explain forecast and operating plan variances
  • Support the monthly Medical Benefit Ratio (MBR) guarantee accrual, including tracking and analysis of performance of guarantees
  • Apply projection assumptions consistently and clearly document methodologies and drivers
  • Support forecast and operating plan cycles, including leadership review materials
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reporting to support business and finance stakeholders
  • Partner with actuarial and accounting teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and results
  • Manage multiple deliverables and timelines in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
  • Identify and support process improvements to enhance model accuracy, transparency, and efficiency
  • Demonstrate readiness for increased responsibility over time through strong execution, ownership of analytical deliverables, and effective partnership with cross‑functional teams
