About The Position

The Senior Analyst of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for the Tax District Administration at GoTriangle is responsible for building and maintaining complex financial models to support forecasting, consolidation, and budget projections. The role leads the financial planning and analysis efforts for the transit plans, coordinating closely with regional partners to develop financial scenarios and ensure strategic alignment. This position identifies financial risks, develops funding strategies, and ensures compliance with federal and local administration requirements. The Senior Analyst of FP&A monitors all Tax District revenue streams, including Vehicle Registration Tax, Sales Tax, grants, and carryforward funds, to maintain financial sustainability and adherence to policies. This role provides vital financial insights to support Wake, Durham, and Orange counties' transit plans and annual work programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business , Accounting, Economics, Finance or similar field .
  • Minimum of 6 years related experience to include the use of financial models for cash flow, consolidation, forecasting, budgeting and planning.
  • Debt reporting compliance experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and problem solving.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the visual depiction of complex ideas.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Expertise with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience working on planning and capital development projects is preferred
  • Experience in a "multi-stakeholder" environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, including Dynamics 365, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain complex financial models for forecasting cash flow, consolidation and budget projections
  • Lead the development of the financial components of the transit plans
  • Coordinate financial model and scenario development with regional transit partners
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to solve funding challenges
  • Coordinate financial plan submittals for federal and local administrations
  • Monitor and forecast Tax District revenue streams, including Vehicle Registration Tax, Sales Tax, grants, and carryforward funds to ensure financial sustainability and adherence to legal and policy requirements
  • Monitor performance of the transit plan budget(s), identify areas of risk or variance, and recommend actions for mitigation
  • Coordinate with GoTriangle's Budget Grants department to ensure the annual budget and 10-year forecast s are aligned with the Transit Plans.
  • Coordinate with GoTriangle's Treasury department, particularly regarding debt issuance for supporting Transit Plans
  • Provide financial inputs , insights , and assumptions used to aid the development and administration of Wake, Durham, and Orange Transit Plans and Annual Work Programs
