About The Position

Review, reconcile and monitor various grants, with a primary focus on State grants. Facilitate forecast and budget development with grant budget managers. Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance reports and provide associated analysis to grant budget managers and to Grants Administration leadership. Perform complex budget and accounting functions, including journal entries, budget transfers, account reconciliations and account set-up. Position will work closely with grants teams and grantors to develop and maintain multi-year financial forecasts which senior management may rely upon to drive performance and make informed decisions. Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of applicable work experience in budgeting, forecasting, modeling and analysis.
  • Experience in positions requiring attention to detail, multitasking, and working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis and reconcile financial data monthly, including researching and correcting discrepancies, for various grants; review budgets and provide analysis to grant managers and Grant Administration leadership.
  • Review, research, prepare, and submit journal entries and budget transfers to appropriately record financial data for assigned grants.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of spending, including variances, available funds and future period forecasts to grant managers and Grants Administration leadership.
  • Identify and research financial status, anomalies, risks and solutions.
  • Create and adjust budgets and forecasts for grants, as needed.
  • Create account numbers and set up all newly awarded, or revised, grant budgets in the district accounting system.
  • Ensure that account numbers are assigned in accordance with state reporting and local management requirements.
  • Work with the General Accounting department to complete the annual grant fund balance roll forward and set-up.
  • Use a variety of computer systems to create reports, analyze spend, and formulate conclusions regarding the fiscal health of assigned grants.
  • Document processes and procedures, implement process improvements and retain documentation as required.
