We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Local Custodian Operations Team. In this position, you will get to work across many different technical accounting matters, global accounting policy, external reporting, special projects, and implementation of new US GAAP guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field, CPA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience, preferably manufacturing environments or public accounting
  • Ability to analyze financial performance and obtain valid explanations for variances.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including intermediate level knowledge of Excel, which includes pivot tables, v/h-lookup, sum-if, if-then statements etc.)
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to handle large volumes of work through prioritization of key initiatives/deadlines and daily workload.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills by always seeking the answer, solution or identifying the issue.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills and teamwork ethics
  • Process focused to include ability to follow, document and explain key processes and impact to accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting US controlling & business teams during the close process which includes preparing journal entries, coordinating submission, and addressing accounting questions.
  • Coordinating the preparation of corporate reporting requirements (Quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet Analytics, GAAP Checklist, Reporting Package, Short-Term Liquidity Forecast) to meet strict corporate reporting deadlines.
  • Reviewing and analyzing significant estimates, such as revenue recognition, sales returns and markdowns, allowance for doubtful accounts, and customer incentive allowances.
  • Preparing account reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and related P&L accounts (focused on areas of complexity/high risk)
  • Assisting with accounting research on ad hoc technical accounting projects.
  • Assisting with documentation for external audit and review procedures.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders in the development, revision, and maintenance of the company's financial policies & procedures.
  • Providing U.S. GAAP accounting guidance to subsidiary and corporate personnel and coordinating implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Performing Sarbanes-Oxley controls and certification processes quarterly.
  • Managing ad-hoc requests made by senior management in a timely manner.
  • Participating in special projects sponsored by senior management.
