The External Reporting Department leads the firm's external reporting, including ESG reporting, SEC filings, subsidiary financial statements and all other external reporting. This role is responsible for developing ESG reporting to ensure compliance with California SB 253 and SB 261, as well as future ESG reporting requirements, and providing technical ESG expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance or ESG.
  • Understanding of how to develop a successful reporting process that includes the right controls, oversight and data integrity.
  • Highly qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience in delivering the right outcomes, working independently, maintaining high quality of work during busy periods, holding self accountable, and being detail oriented.
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across the firm to ensure alignment.
  • Continuous desire to learn and acquire new skills, intellectually curious and wants to understand the why.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA.
  • Working knowledge of the TCFD framework and Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
  • Intermediate technical accounting and/or SEC reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and independently.
  • Financial services or brokerage industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with External Affairs to develop ESG reporting processes that meet the requirements of SB 253 and SB 261, ensuring the processes have the right level of controls, data integrity and oversight.
  • Integrally involved in the ongoing ESG reporting, ensuring completeness and accuracy and reporting deadlines are met.
  • Remain current on ESG rules, monitor proposed rules and potential impacts, strengthen technical skills.
  • Continuous evaluation of processes for improvement and best practices.
  • Occasionally assist with other external reporting.
