About The Position

As a Senior Analyst - BCG Vantage within BCG's Travel, Cities and Infrastructure (TCI) Practice Area you will work in a growing global team, providing industry/functional expertise and insights whilst working together with case and proposal teams to provide knowledge assets, analysis and expert advisory. You'll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic/sector leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues. You will support commercialization efforts for the topic/sector working, in conjunction with business leaders, through contributing analysis and insights to proposals, client workshops and marketing materials. Additionally, as a Senior Analyst - BCG Vantage, you will contribute to developing intellectual property & assets for the business and assist in onboarding and training junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise. Travel, Cities and Infrastructure (TCI) is one of BCG industry Practice Areas. Our practice covers infrastructure, travel, transportation, cities, real estate, tourism, and logistics which form a significant and very dynamic part of the global economy. Massive amounts of public and private capital are flowing into physical infrastructure upgrades as well as sweeping changes driven by digitization and the climate transition. These topics also have far-reaching effects in areas such as climate resilience, holistic livability, sustainable mobility, and equality. Public and private entities in this space have bold ambitions over the coming decade. The TCI Practice Area ambitions to help our clients build, advance and move the communities of tomorrow. And collaborates closely with the Public Sector, Energy and Telcom Media & Technology Practices to bring the best of BCG to our clients.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of consulting experience in relevant transportation planning, operation and management required; candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of consulting experience, 3+ years minimum industry experience required; 4-6+ years of industry experience (esp. work directly or indirectly with the U.S. Department of Transportation) strongly preferred.
  • Alternatively, relevant experience in roles such as analyst, statistician, strategic planner, economist, urbanist, project manager, or bid planner—focused on driving insights and solutions in transportation operations and management.
  • Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred).
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Federal Government security clearance.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Solving client problems through formulating relevant research and/or analytical approaches in the transportation planning, operation and management area, focusing on road segment.
  • Understanding the full road ecosystem, including economics, legislation, and operations, beyond engineering and construction aspect.
  • Expertise in transportation infrastructure funding, development, and public-private partnerships.
  • Navigating Department of Transportation (DoT) work processes, with direct experience in roads and bridges operation and maintenance projects.
  • Communicating with case teams and stakeholders, in a credible and confident way.
  • Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic often virtual, proficient in agile ways of working.
  • Being flexible and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas.
  • Navigating complexity and ambiguity.

  • Base salary between $100,500 - $108,500.
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-16%.
