About The Position

Omdia (part of Informa TechTarget) is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our highly respected analyst team and work out of our Portland, Oregon office. In this role you will join an experienced global team that covers the AI ecosystem full stack: from AI compute to AI developer tooling and enterprise AI platforms, to enterprise AI applications. We work with market-leading brands from hyperscalers to AI startups, helping clients with their product and GTM strategies, and understanding of where the next wave of AI disruption is coming from to harness it for tangible and sustained business value. The successful candidate will focus primarily on the rapidly evolving market space of AI tooling and enterprise AI platforms (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex, Microsoft Azure, IBM watsonx, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.), MLOps, LLMOps, etc., as well as agentic AI and open and closed source LLMs, LMMs, etc. You will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative research within the AI Platforms Intelligence Service, which includes forecasts, vendor comparisons, market trackers and reports, custom research projects, survey research, white papers, webinars, and industry speaking engagements. We are looking for a candidate who is also capable of supporting (or willing to learn) AI Applications and Advanced Computing research areas. We’re looking for an experienced analyst who has produced third-party research assets, with insight into the AI ecosystem. The position is suited to an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and collaborative person able to express considered and bold views through thought-provoking research and analysis to a mixed audience of technical end users through senior industry executives. Ability to quickly develop strong relationships, interpersonal skills and to effectively work as part of a global team are essential.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience. Experience as industry analyst or in the fields of vendor corporate strategy, market research, consulting, journalism, or a relevant role within a technology company preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related topic.
  • Proven commercial acumen, with a track record of collaborating effectively with sales teams to identify, develop, and capitalize on business opportunities that drive growth and success.
  • Solid understanding and insight into the enterprise AI software market, and the ability to quickly form credible, distinctive, compelling, and original opinions on how aspects of these will evolve, and why.
  • Quantitative research, with the ability to build, maintain, and enhance market forecasts and trackers, and present complex concepts and trends from data in a compelling manner.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, including a personable manner and the confidence to present to, engage with, and influence executives at the highest levels of the industry.
  • The ability to build and enhance a profile with industry contacts and opinion formers. A network of existing industry contacts would be desirable.
  • The ability to quickly and coherently identify and communicate critical issues impacting the commercial performance of Omdia’s vendor clients across enterprise AI software market.
  • A proven track record of managing a workload to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Cultural awareness, as the role involves working with global clients and within a global virtual team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver insightful research
  • Create high quality research in the form of reports, trackers, forecasts, and presentations. Develop and test hypotheses that challenge existing beliefs within a market to provide unique insight. Use all the tools and knowledge at your disposal to produce analysis that goes beyond the descriptive to give Omdia the edge over its competition.
  • Market high-level industry expertise
  • Use your expertise and experience to define and expand an area of research. Market that expertise at a senior level within our clients and prospects. Provide a timely response to market events and offer up-to-date opinions founded on broad-based experience.
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Over time, and as your career progresses at Omdia and Informa TechTarget, build and maintain a network of client relationships. Become a trusted advisor to these clients over time.
  • Ensure effective client management
  • Build and manage ongoing relationships with clients. Represent Omdia and Informa TechTarget, demonstrating your expertise in AI platforms, as well as taking a broad view of AI technology and its delivery of business outcomes. Support sales, marketing, product management, and PR teams. Participate in client-facing meetings with the sales team and add credibility to Omdia and Informa TechTarget relationships.
  • Expand strategic planning involvement
  • Offer insight to our planning meetings. Contribute to the direction and strategy of the team. Through the understanding of client needs based on senior-level relationships, develop a customer-based point of view for new products and advisory services.
