About The Position

The External Reporting Team member, as Senior Analyst Accounting Operations, is responsible for delivering external financial reporting required for SITA entities across the world, with primary focus on APAC countries. External financial reporting includes the financial statements, the corporate income tax returns as well as financial statistics. He/she ensures the consistency of the financial reporting with IFRS standards and local regulatory requirements and follows the evolution of these regulations. This includes analysis of the trial balances and collaboration with the external auditors, entities accountants and tax managers.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting environment preferably within a medium to large international company, or within an international auditing firm.
  • Understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
  • Analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task, to stand up to pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Team-player.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; other languages are beneficial.
  • Demonstrate PC proficiency (MS Excel and Word).
  • Working knowledge of accounting (Oracle) or reporting tools (Onestream, Anaplan) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in the planning for the preparation and delivery of the financial statements, the Corporate Income Tax return and, if applicable, financial statistics for each APAC SITA entity under his/her responsibility.
  • Perform detailed analysis of the trial balance and the transactions recorded.
  • Document this analysis and share it with external auditors and with external partners.
  • Resolve queries from external auditors, external partners or tax authorities.
  • Keep track and have perfect knowledge of the differences between the entity local trial balance as reported in the local financial statements and the entity trial balance as maintained by the SITA central accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with other SITA teams to reduce differences as much as possible.
  • Review and validate the reconciliation between the local trial balance and the entity trial balance when the accounting of the entity is outsourced.
  • Prepare financial statements and associated disclosures in line with IFRS or local GAAP when prepared internally.
  • Regularly review the local country financial reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate and support other team members.
  • Identify organizational and process efficiency improvements.
  • Implement specific department project and process improvement tasks.
