About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Air Dominance Technical Pilot, on the Air Dominance/Phantom Works, Air Proprietary 1 (AP1) Program in Berkeley, MO (St. Louis, MO surrounding area). In this role, you will work alongside a high-performing, cross-functional team focused on developing next-generation, state-of-the-art capabilities for Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) programs, including Air Dominance and Phantom Works, among others. The primary responsibility of the selected candidate will be to support advanced aircraft and systems development and certification efforts, and to provide flight operations, safety and technical support to Boeing stakeholders at multiple levels. This involves integrating into multidisciplinary teams aimed at addressing warfighter needs by applying human engineering principles and leveraging best practices operating tactical aircraft. As senior Technical Pilot, you will develop and approve new or existing procedures and provide information and specialized technical services to stakeholder pilots, enhancing warfighting capabilities. You will also contribute to planning and execution of assessments of pilot-vehicle-interface design for experimental, prototype, and production aircraft. The senior Technical Pilot collaborates in development and coordination of test plans, procedures, and techniques to achieve qualification or certification, while meeting test plan objectives. The senior Technical Pilot recommends operational techniques for systems and design enhancements. Other responsibilities of the senior Technical Pilot include researching, editing, documenting, and coordinating publication of tactics, techniques, and procedures for operating Boeing aircraft. You will represent Boeing as a technical lead when engaging in external/internal forums and collaborations, as well as advise, coach and mentor other Technical Pilots. As the senior Technical Pilot you will meet with regulatory agencies at the executive level and serve as a consultant to senior management and other industry professionals. Additionally, you will support business development by discussing and demonstrating aircraft and new flight technology. As a senior Technical Pilot you will consult with cross-functional teams during accident investigations and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, physical sciences, or chemistry
  • Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements or military equivalent
  • Current FAA Class II medical certificate or the ability to obtain one
  • 1,000 flight hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) of turbine powered jet aircraft
  • Operational flight test experience in 5th Generation Fighter aircraft or 6th Generation Fighter development experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Operational flight test experience in the F-22A
  • USAF Weapons Instructor Course (WIC)
  • Graduate Test Pilot School (TPS)
