About The Position

We are a strategy-led technology firm working with midsize companies to design and implement high-impact automation and analytics systems. We are seeking a hands-on Senior AI Python Software Engineer to act as an independent individual contributor, working directly with the founder to expand our delivery capacity and improve overall system reliability across engagements. In this role, your work will sit perfectly at the intersection of data, operations, and applied AI. You will focus on building pragmatic, production-ready systems that deliver measurable business value.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Proven track record of taking loosely defined problems and driving them all the way to production.
• Experience working effectively in imperfect, real-world operational environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong ownership and independent problem-solving skills.
• Backend Development: Strong experience with Python in a production environment.
• APIs: Extensive experience building and interacting with REST APIs.
• Data Engineering: High proficiency in SQL and data manipulation utilizing Pandas or equivalent libraries.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Solid grasp of cloud deployment basics across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Code Quality: Ability to consistently write clean, readable, and maintainable code.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with modern data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Basic familiarity with containerization technologies.
• Previous exposure and experience integrating with enterprise systems such as ERPs, CRMs, or internal databases.
• Hands-on exposure to applied AI tooling.
• Systems Thinking: Ability to think in systems and broader architecture, not just isolated functions.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate clearly about technical tradeoffs.
• Pragmatism: A strong engineering judgment that values system reliability over technological novelty or stack purity.
• Adaptability: A proven capability to learn new platforms quickly when required by the project.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development using Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Build, maintain, and manage API integrations.
• Handle SQL-based data modeling and transformation, working with both structured and messy operational data.
• Deploy and manage applications across major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Refactor and harden production systems to ensure maximum reliability.
• Support applied AI workflows and build out necessary automation tools.
• Create and improve system documentation alongside deployment processes.
