We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. We seek a highly skilled Sr AI Engineer who will be instrumental in driving our next-generation AI initiatives, with a dual focus on large language models (LLMs) and robust NLP solutions. In this role, you will direct the research, strategy, design, roadmap, and deployment of AI and NLP products from development through production. You will leverage best practices in LLMops and MLOps—including frameworks like Vertex AI—to develop scalable, efficient models. Additionally, you will implement the latest state-of-the-art techniques from the research arena (including advancements in SpaCy and Transformers architectures) in a production-ready manner while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior talent.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar field or a combination of professional experience and education required.
• Masters degree in Computer Science or similar field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on ML and AI System Engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, particularly in object-oriented programming, API development (e.g., using Flask), and working with SQL required.
• Deep expertise in large language models (LLMs) and familiarity with best practices in LLMops, alongside substantial experience with MLOps frameworks such as Vertex AI required.
• Extensive experience with NLP frameworks and libraries such as SpaCy, Transformers, HuggingFace, LangChain, as well as familiarity with other tools (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, NLTK) and techniques including topic modeling, named entity recognition, and information retrieval required.
• Practical experience with large language model prompting techniques, including zero-shot, few-shot, and chain-of-thought strategies required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research, strategy, design, roadmap, and end-to-end implementation of AI and NLP products, ensuring seamless integration from concept to deployment.
• Be hands-on in implementing cutting-edge techniques derived from current research—including innovations in LLMs, SpaCy, and Transformers—while ensuring robust production standards.
• Spearhead the training, fine-tuning, and deployment process for large language models, incorporating LLMops best practices and advanced prompting techniques (e.g., zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought).
• Design and manage scalable MLOps pipelines, leveraging platforms such as Vertex AI to optimize model training, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Oversee design and code reviews to ensure adherence to internal engineering standards, ethical AI guidelines, and responsible AI practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed AI and NLP capabilities into broader product offerings while clearly communicating technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor and inspire junior AI engineers, fostering an inclusive team environment that drives innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in AI and NLP, ensuring that our solutions remain at the forefront of technological innovation.
