Team Cymru’s mission is clear — to save and improve human lives through threat intelligence. We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our growing AI Engineering team and help shape the next generation of cybersecurity innovation. You’ll work on cutting-edge AI initiatives that leverage our Pure Signal™ platform — the largest source of real-time, external threat intelligence with unmatched global visibility. Our petabyte-scale data ocean delivers insights at speeds others can’t match, empowering security teams to detect and prevent cyber threats worldwide. Projects may include building Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, fine-tuning models for domain-specific applications, and developing autonomous AI workflows. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll build and deploy production code, innovate quickly, and collaborate with a world-class engineering team.

  • Build AI-powered solutions using technologies like embedding systems and vector databases.
  • Manage large and complex data challenges, including handling API responses that exceed LLM context windows.
  • Implement evaluation frameworks and monitoring systems to ensure AI reliability and performance in production.
  • Design and orchestrate multi-agent workflows with robust tool use, memory systems, and observability.
  • Write production-quality Python and Golang code with thorough testing, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on new AI capabilities with a small, agile team.
  • Stay current with AI/LLM developments and help evaluate new innovations.
  • Work with diverse data structures, including graph-based features and vector embeddings.
  • Optimize AI systems for cost, performance, and security.
  • Adapt to evolving project requirements as our AI strategy grows.
  • 5+ years in software engineering roles
  • Background in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or network security
  • 3+ years writing production-quality Python
  • Experience deploying Go services in production
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG systems, and context management
  • Strong background with large-scale data, pandas/dataframes, API design, and databases (PostgreSQL, Clickhouse)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Located in Eastern time zone
  • Experience with MCPs and related AI tool protocols
  • Fine-tuning open-source models (Llama, Mistral, etc.)
  • Workflow automation (n8n, LangGraph, etc.)
  • Graph database and vector database experience (Pinecone, Chroma, pgvector, Milvus, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure
  • Experience with LLM evaluation tools (LangSmith, Weights & Biases)
  • Understanding of embedding models and semantic search
  • Token optimization and caching strategies for LLM systems
  • Remote-first organization — work from wherever you’re most productive.
  • 100% employer-funded health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Life insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Performance bonuses and rewards.
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Fitness Membership Stipend.
  • Telephone/Internet Service Fee Stipend.
  • Career Development Training to support ongoing growth.
