About The Position

The Senior AI Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of AI-powered user experiences across web and mobile platforms. This role combines deep technical expertise with creativity, applying large language models (LLMs) and generative AI tools to design personalized, automated, and engaging solutions. You will collaborate across product, design, architecture, and data teams to develop scalable and reliable AI applications that enhance user experiences. In addition to coding, you will mentor peers, influence technical decisions, and help set engineering standards. Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications
• 2–3+ years of hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, or applied machine learning systems
• Proficiency with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django), JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and serverless cloud services (AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Experience with Generative AI frameworks, APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), prompt engineering, few-shot learning, and context management
• Understanding of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and related AI technologies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to mentor peers, and collaborate effectively across teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related engineering field; advanced degrees a plus
• Ability to travel 3–5 times per year to the company office (Reston, VA)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions leveraging modern technologies, cloud-native architectures, and AI tools
• Implement AI-driven features, including LLM-based applications, RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases to enhance user experiences
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable technical solutions
• Mentor team members, provide code reviews, and contribute to elevating team performance and engineering practices
• Lead prototyping, testing, deployment, and operational support of AI systems while maintaining documentation and engineering standards
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, support production issue resolution, and uphold security and CI/CD best practices
