Situated within the Mayor's Office of Equity and Racial Justice (MOERJ) as a companion office to the NYC Young Men's Initiative (YMI), NYC Her Future will foster positive change and create a brighter future for all young people, with a special focus on young women, girls, and gender expansive people in communities of color across New York City. The announcement is part of "Women Forward NYC," the city's $43 million action plan aimed at making New York a national leader on gender equity. NYC Her Future is an office established to connect young women, girls, and gender expansive youth of color to development opportunities and programs that center empowerment, cultural identity, well-being, and academic and career success. NYC Her Future will build off the success of YMI and work in tandem with YMI to ensure that all NYC youth are advancing and needs are being met equitably.
