About The Position

The Senior Advisor Finance role at Rio Tinto is a key position within the North America Exploration team, focused on providing analytical support and driving financial performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a financial discipline or professional qualification (MBA, ACA, CPA, CMA).
  • 5+ years of finance experience in a complex global organization, including Joint Venture accounting.
  • Experience in mining and exploration accounting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and engagement skills at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and forward-thinking competencies.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Genuine curiosity for understanding business performance and developing insights.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance.
  • Expertise in business, finance, and presentation tools (SAP, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI).

Responsibilities

  • Support North America Exploration senior leaders with financial analysis and planning processes.
  • Drive business performance by partnering with stakeholders and providing insightful financial analysis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders across Development & Technology and Finance functions.
  • Collaborate with regional teams on global plans and improvement processes.
  • Lead the development of rigorous financial planning to enhance business performance.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial analysis to influence financial strategy and market insight.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support high-value initiatives to optimize business outcomes.
  • Leverage technology to improve processes and provide insightful advice.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and risk management practices.
  • Provide reporting for joint ventures.
