About The Position

The Senior Advanced Software Engineer for Intelligrated Services, LLC in Mason, OH will actively participate in the entire lifecycle of assigned projects, including project requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The role involves leading and implementing PLC controls projects for integrated systems and subsystems, specifically in warehouse distribution centers and material handling machine control systems, encompassing conveyor, merge, and sorter subsystems. The engineer will contribute to project planning, reporting, and management while overseeing financial, technical, and timeline aspects to recognize project success. This position requires managing multiple high-risk projects, taking ownership of PLC content and ensuring consistency among projects, documentation, and support. The engineer will ensure 100% compliance with phase gate reviews, delivering all project outputs on time, and engaging in monthly project reviews alongside Project Managers and Program Managers. Additionally, the role includes providing support and consulting for Concepting & Estimating, PLC Controls Engineering, Project Management, Systems Engineering, Installation, Product Development, technical support, and Sales & Marketing. The engineer will manage program requirements, associated documentation, and maintain technical communications with customers to drive execution improvements and continuous enhancement efforts. The position also involves developing, documenting, and upholding machine control interface standards across multiple platforms, reviewing and optimizing complex project and standard library PLC code, Ethernet IP network configurations, system architecture, operation descriptions, functional specifications, and interfacing documents for equipment. Weekly team meetings, task reviews, and project progress reporting are required, along with managing project budgets (averaging $5M) and customer portfolios (averaging $10M). Emulations of all major designs will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience in job offered or acceptable alternative occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in the stated fields and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Material Handling Equipment including high speed merging, high speed sorting, accumulation conveyors, VFD's, barcode scanners, HMI's.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC configuration management and change management.
  • Highly skilled at creating complex PLC code using Rockwell Studio software.
  • Experience in creating HMI/SCADA applications.
  • Experience in emulation and simulation of PLC projects.
  • Experience leading end-to-end of multiple projects or programs.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to the customer and other engineers using verbal and written communications.
