There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.

As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will play a pivotal role in the Sonar and Sensors business area, contributing to the design, development, and testing of precision maneuvering thrusters for submarine platforms. This position requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, as well as hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and Creo. You will be part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that the thrusters meet stringent performance and environmental standards. Your work will involve not only the creation of detailed 3D models and technical data packages but also the execution of structural and thermal analyses to validate designs against the harsh conditions submarines face, including shock, vibration, and temperature extremes. In this role, you will leverage your advanced proficiency in CAD modeling to produce mechanical models and drawings that adhere to ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards. Your extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods will be crucial as you guide projects from conception through to production. You will also be expected to communicate effectively, both in writing technical papers and proposals, and in verbal discussions with team members and management. Your commitment to ongoing professional development will not only enhance your own skills but also contribute to the growth of your colleagues and the organization as a whole. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in research-oriented work that directly impacts national security, all while enjoying a flexible work schedule that promotes work-life balance.
