About The Position

The Senior Administrator, Broadcast IT Systems is responsible for overseeing the digital media production systems and audio routing within a media production environment. This role serves as a bridge between IT and traditional broadcast disciplines, focusing on the management and evolution of audio play-out, content management, and network infrastructure. The position ensures that content producers at WAMU have the necessary digital tools to create and manage audio/video content effectively, while also implementing modern control and distribution systems for various multimedia needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in broadcast and IT systems administration.

Nice To Haves

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in broadcast and IT systems administration.
  • Experience managing digital audio routing and distribution systems.
  • Cisco, A+, or SBE certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Broadcast IT systems and devices, including audio playout and automation, web stream encoders, and electronic newsgathering systems.
  • Provide user training on media production and management systems, and support production needs for special events and remote broadcasts.
  • Collaborate with technology team members to design systems responsive to content production needs and support the Director of Engineering on projects.
  • Support technical requirements for on-air membership drives, special events, and breaking news, ensuring operational needs are met.
