This Actuarial student position is within the actuarial modeling team and reports to the Modeling Production Lead. The model production team supports business partners by running and analyzing actuarial cashflow projections for regulatory, risk, and internal business metrics. The role also has the potential to collaborate on actuarial model development projects, including modification, enhancement, and testing of financial modeling and projection software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or a directly related field
  • ASA with 4 or more years of experience with focus on annuities and group life products.
  • Knowledge of reserves, assets, liabilities, & financial statements.
  • Highly analytical, strong oral and written communication skills, detail oriented with an ability to solve complex business problems; capable of effectively communicating with all audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and personal integrity
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, VBA is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with actuarial model platforms such as Risk Agility or Prophet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Input review/preparation/analysis and model run execution.
  • Develop, enhance, and modify current tools using VBA code.
  • Lead modeling projects related to changes in regulations or company initiatives.
  • Analyze model results for reasonableness, key drivers, and interaction of assets and liabilities.
