The Sr. Actuarial Associate, Pricing & Product Development, is a position on the International Reinsurance Pricing team within our Retirement Strategies business unit. The Sr. Actuarial Associate will play a key role in leading overall pricing execution for Prudential’s rapidly growing multi-billion-dollar pension/longevity risk International Reinsurance Business. This individual will be instrumental in navigating new deal opportunities, from analyzing a deal’s liability characteristics and mortality experience, to collaborating with various stakeholders across the business. The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid or virtual and may require your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business, dependent on the candidate's location. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other highly quantitative field (i.e. Engineering)
  • Progress towards attainment of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation (ASA). Actuarial exam support provided.
  • 2+ years of strong actuarial experience (product development, pricing, valuation, GAAP/Stat reporting, financial modeling, etc).
  • Superior technical skills (Excel, Python, SQL) and ability to understand and explain complex quantitative concepts and models.
  • Good communication skills, particularly in presenting results to senior executives.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple urgent priorities.
  • Highly motivated, innovative, and creative problem solver.
  • Fast learner and ability to work in a multi-functional, dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing plan specific experience data to determine mortality and other demographic assumptions
  • Generate assumptions, financial projections and evaluate global longevity reinsurance transactions.
  • Providing timely, accurate and insightful pricing analytics to facilitate confident decision-making and to achieve business goals
  • Mine and scrub complex pension plan datasets.
  • Improving tools, analytics, or processes used within the team
  • Collaborating with a broad group of actuarial and business partners in a fast-paced, deal-focused environment
