About The Position

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will support financial evaluation related analytics and research for Commercial and Medicaid lines of business. Key functions include applying actuarial principles to build models and perform analysis that supports Aledade's forecast process, risk management initiatives, and contracting efforts. The role involves working with healthcare data from various sources, including health plans, public data sources, and consulting firms, to perform actuarial analysis and generate insights for business strategy development. The analyst will also become a data expert for the financial structure and methodology of value-based contracting to contribute to fact-based business decision making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of actuarial or related experience
• Two SOA exams toward the ASA credential
• Experience with actuarial analysis and model building
• Experience with health care data sources such as medical claims, membership, and risk scores

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics or computer science
• 3-4 SOA components toward the ASA credential
• Experience with SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming
• Demonstrated ability to conduct nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations, presentations, and reports.
• Attention to detail, quality assurance, documentation, and building repeatable processes
• Knowledge of standard methods for measuring health care utilization, spending, quality, and related outcomes
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Understand the problem space: Work with teams across Aledade to understand and clarify questions and issues for data analysis.
• Data extraction and validation: extract, validate, and incorporate data from diverse data sources into actuarial models and analyses.
• Design and execute actuarial analysis: Design actuarial analyses and build actuarial models to answer key business questions and generate actionable insights and solutions.
• Assist in translating and communicating analysis results: Work with one’s manager and other teams across Aledade to synthesize results, identify implications, and translate findings into action.
