Senior Actuarial Analyst

About the position

AAA Life is seeking to hire a Senior Actuarial Analyst to support our Modeling team. This person will support AAA's actuarial modernization initiatives and be responsible for maintaining actuarial models in MG-ALFA for VM-20 valuation and financial reporting processes. Additionally, this position offers opportunities to interact with internal and external stakeholders across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain actuarial models in MG-ALFA to support VM-20 valuation and financial reporting processes.
• Perform quarterly production VM-20 results and annual VM-31 reports.
• Test and analyze model results, including quantifying model change impacts and documenting the development process.
• Support AAA's model conversion initiatives.
• Actively improve the modeling process.
• Support internal and external audit inquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Completion of 3 to 4 Society of Actuaries exams.
• Minimum 18 months experience in the actuarial field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with an Actuarial modeling system. MG-ALFA preferred.
• Proficiency in VM-20 knowledge is a plus.
• Previous experience programming in Access and proficient in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to identify improvements and enhance routine functions such as financial reporting.
• Program and test in Access and SQL Server database environments.
• Analyze results for reasonableness.
• Learn company operations, systems and actuarial methodologies quickly.
