About The Position

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Active Directory Engineer to support enterprise identity and directory services initiatives. This role offers a collaborative environment focused on Active Directory architecture, security, and large-scale identity management solutions across a complex Windows infrastructure. HYBRID position. Local to DMV candidates only As a Senior Active Directory Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting Microsoft Active Directory and identity management solutions across the enterprise, serving as a technical lead on complex projects and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the corporate directory environment.

Requirements

10 or more years of hands-on experience administering and engineering Microsoft Active Directory environments.
Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory attributes, LDAP queries, and directory architecture.
Strong experience with PowerShell scripting to modify AD attributes and develop automation solutions.
Advanced understanding of Group Policy Objects, including analysis, configuration, and item-level targeting.
Deep knowledge of native permissions for Microsoft built-in groups, AD objects, GPOs, and local security policies.
Working knowledge of AD Sites, replication topology, and native Active Directory troubleshooting tools.
Experience integrating applications with Active Directory using LDAP and Kerberos for authentication and authorization.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
MCSE certification.
ITIL v4 certification.
Experience developing complex automation scripts using PowerShell or VBScript.
Familiarity with workstation configurations, browser configuration settings, and VMView environments.
Experience building and supporting domain controllers and member servers in enterprise environments.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate daily with system administrators and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Serve as the engineering lead for large-scale Active Directory and Identity Management projects across the enterprise.
Analyze, design, and implement Active Directory and identity management solutions to meet business and security requirements.
Plan, support, and design directory synchronization systems for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems.
Oversee and maintain the security, reliability, and integrity of the corporate Active Directory forest and schema.
Lead Active Directory migration and integration activities, acting as the primary coordination point.
Perform analysis, design, capacity planning, and implementation of Active Directory security controls.
Analyze existing Active Directory environments to identify technical and operational gaps and develop improvement strategies.
Implement business-driven changes through Group Policy configuration and integration of AD management tools and services.
Configure and manage Active Directory server roles including Certificate Authorities, DNS, IIS, and File/Print services.
Evaluate technical requirements for projects, assessing infrastructure impact, redundancy, and capacity needs.
Interact with customers, service managers, and operational teams to design, test, and deploy security and automation solutions.
Provide Active Directory data and reporting to support regulatory and compliance requests.
Develop and maintain repeatable process documentation governing identity and authorization systems.
Create training manuals and presentation materials using Microsoft Office products.
Troubleshoot complex issues across directory, identity, and related production environments.
