About The Position
This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least two (2) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. Under general direction of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) independently performs complex professional accounting functions in the General Ledger (GL) Unit. The position performs monthly reconciliations between the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) records and State Controller's (SCO's) records for General Fund, special funds, and/or bond funds, prepares financial statements, fund balance reports, and annual reports. The Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs tasks in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services guidelines, Governor's Budget, Department of Finance rules and regulations, SCO policies, California Department of Human Resources policies, State Administrative Manual, and state and federal laws.
