As the Senior Accounting Manager, Commercia l is part of the Commercial Finance Business Partner (“FBP”) team, you will be responsible for managing all finance and accounting aspects of AutoZone's Commercial business ($5BB sales; $2BB net gross; $1.4BB operating expenses) including total company fleet leasing accounting under ASC 842 for over 19K vehicles with $300MM Right of Use lease assets/liabilities. You will have end-to-end responsibilities, from setting/controlling Commercial policies to 10Q/10K reporting, while providing financial guidance and support to the Commercial business unit through P&L analysis and management of the Forecast/Plan processes for Commercial. In conjunction with the Commercial FBP, you will design and implement accounting policies and procedures impacting Commercial and oversee the financial period close process. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, with a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience + CPA required Accounting management experience with Big Four (public) with Fortune 500 clients preferred Familiarity with lease accounting under ASC 842 and revenue recognition under ASC 606 Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions Well-organized with high attention to detail; highly motivated and able to prioritize and manage time wisely Ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the organization, including upper management Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong inter-personal, human relations, and communication skills Strong foundation in Excel (ability to perform Pivots and VLOOKUPs is assumed) Strong procedural development and process improvement skills with an ability to clearly document processes Support all aspects of accounting/finance for the Commercial business, including understanding internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls Manage the period-end close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all accounting entries and reconciliations to include review and preparation of period-end journal entries related to AutoZone's Commercial business as well as balance sheet account reconciliations. Work cross-functionally with several different Functional Area Finance Business Partners and Accounting Managers (including Retail/LP, Merchandising, Supply Chain, EComm/Marketing, and HR) on weekly forecasts, annual Plan/LRP, quarterly LEs, and to ensure that financial reporting is up-to-date and fairly represents operating results each period Perform analytical review of lease and commission related balances and provide balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and serve as the first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues Manage the preparation and review of Commercial's weekly Forecast and annual Plan process and financial reporting materials Provide regular financial updates to the Commercial leadership team - updates include explanation of variances from Forecast, Plan and/or LY as well as guidance regarding identified trends in the Commercial business Lead the preparation/review of pro forma financial statements including review and analysis of P&L impacts from customer/industry-specific trends Design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities Accommodate internal and external audit requests Work with and develop other members of the team to understand, implement, and document business processes - must have a desire to learn and apply best practices Supervisor and elevate Financial Analyst(s)/Programmer at the BTSSC in Mexico and Senior Financial Analyst(s) at the SSC in Memphis Perform other duties as assigned
