Newtek Insurance Agency is a retail and wholesale brokerage insurance agency licensed in all 50 states, specializing in the sale of commercial and health/benefits lines insurance products to the SMB market as well as various personal lines of insurance.
The Sr. Accounting Analyst is responsible for higher-level accounting functions including reconciliations, revenue deferrals, reporting, and financial analysis related to insurance operations. This role partners closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational discipline.

Requirements

• 5-8 years' accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
• Strong communication and ownership mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Insurance brokerage or financial services experience.
• Experience with revenue deferral and commission accounting.
• Prior audit support experience.

Responsibilities

• Own complex carrier, commission, and revenue reconciliations.
• Review and oversee work prepared by Accounting Specialists.
• Manage revenue deferral schedules and recognition accuracy.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages and variance explanations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure audit-ready documentation and internal controls.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Serve as primary accounting partner to insurance operations leadership.
• Ownership of AMS360 and Benefit Point.
