About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wants to play a crucial role in scaling our accounting operations. As a key member of Flexport's finance team, you'll partner across the business to ensure accurate reporting, enhance processes, and provide actionable insights that help us grow responsibly and intelligently. This role is ideal for a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and building scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward certification strongly preferred.
  • 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a mix of public accounting (Big Four or mid-tier) and industry.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls; experience with global accounting is a plus.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to address accounting challenges and business questions with creativity and analytical rigor.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems skills (e.g., Netsuite, Workday, Oracle, SAP). Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to work across functions and regions.

Responsibilities

  • Own portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Serve as a problem solver by identifying accounting issues, diagnosing root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Operations, Tax, Compliance, etc.) to ensure proper accounting treatment of complex transactions.
  • Assist with global consolidation and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Support audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Partner with business leaders to analyze financial trends and provide insights that support decision-making.
  • Stay current on accounting standards and assess their impact on company policies and reporting.
