Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or other business-related field.
  • Three years of related work experience in accounting/finance functions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook/Email, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex financial analysis with minimal supervision and report findings to management.
  • Reviews and reconciles medium to high complexity balance sheet accounts including cash, revenue, receivable, expense, and liability accrual accounts.
  • Analyzes financial data for significant fluctuations and communicates with appropriate units or departments to ascertain validity of transactions.
  • Prepares and provides account reconciliations, audit workpapers, and other documentation for internal and external audit reviews.
  • Provides support for Federal and State compliance reporting requirements such as Federal Plan reporting, HIPAA compliance guidelines, and IRS 1099 reporting requirements.
  • Interprets government rules and regulations and communicates with vendors and business associates on updated or new reporting requirements.
  • Reviews and approves general ledger account reconciliations and claims system payment balancing worksheets.
  • Assists management with review of payment transactions and general ledger reporting.
  • Manages and coordinates work effort for Disbursements functions such as recovery of provider negative balance and processing third party payee requests.
  • Actively participates in projects and provides system test support for corporate initiatives and systems upgrades.
  • Develops business processes, procedures, and workflows for new requirements or business needs.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments on information related to outstanding balances and associated claims.
  • Identifies, articulates, and communicates project and accounting operation risks to senior leadership.
